POSSESSING GOD AS YOUR GREATEST INHERITANCE (Part 3)

The fact that God accepts us
to be His children, has a lot of implication for us as believers. We need to pray that God should open our eyes to see what this relationship holds for us.

”For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they  are the sons of God. For ye have not received the Spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself, beareth witness with our Spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children then heirs- heirs- of God and joint heirs- with Christ-if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together."(Romans 8:14-17)
We have the Spirit of adoption, the Spirit of His Son. There is the Spirit of bondage which tends to fear. It is the beggarly spirit of an outcast. This is the Spirit which all mankind inherited in Adam because of sin. It does not draw near in boldness to receive from the Father's bosom. It dares not look up, it lacks assurance of acceptance. It is not sure of anything. It is timid. Though in his own possession, he behaves as a slave. This spirit always hides behind trees as Adam did. It accepts to be covered with leaves. It clings and clinches unto material things because it is not sure of what lies  ahead. It is bound forever to seek security, in case of emergencies. It is actually the Spirit of poverty. It keeps and hoards, because for him, the future is bleak and uncertain. I see this same spirit in every man who runs around, up and down, for what eyes can see or hands can touch. It rejoices and brags in the things it now possesses. A slave always will measure his progress by materials he is able to gather from his master (which he calls his own) because he knows he has no eternal inheritance in the house. He says "this and this are mine; put my name on it; in case the master dies, I may not inherit any thing apart from all these." It is the Spirit of poverty. But the Son, owns everything. He owns the father, dead or alive! God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying Abba, Father.
"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts crying Abba, Father. Wherefore, thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." (Galatians 4:6-7)....
I know are blessed today. As you meditate on God's, desire to be with the Lord continually. See you next week for (part 4) of this series.
Remain blessed.
Am your pastor: Igweokolo Prince A. E.
